ingredients:

     1 kg potatoes, cut into thin strips
     5 grains of red onion, thinly sliced
     3 cloves garlic, minced

     2 stalks leek
     1 teaspoon pepper
     1 teaspoon nutmeg
     1 tbsp bouillon powder
     2 eggs, yolks and whites separated
     fine salt to taste

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD potato cakes:

     Fried potatoes until cooked, remove from heat and immediately smoothed.
     Saute onion and garlic and celery and leek finely and mix with the potatoes. Add 2 egg yolks, pepper, nutmeg, bouillon powder and salt, mix well.
     Shape dough slightly flattened round, dip in egg whites that have been whipped for a while. Fry in hot oil until golden brown, remove and drain. Delicious potato patties ready to serve.
